Onroute Truckstops help Lechner Racing reduce carbon footprint

The Lechner Racing team, who partner with our parent company Mabanaft, visited Junction 29 on Monday 10th July to refuel with Renewable Diesel (HVO). We were excited to welcome the team to our site when they dropped by as they travelled home following a challenging race day at Silverstone.

Playing a part in the energy transition

Our parent company, Mabanaft, is keen to play its part in the transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy sources and is helping customers reduce their CO2 emissions in a variety of ways. It is working in partnership with Lechner Racing to help reduce their emissions through a combination of Renewable Diesel and carbon compensation credits.

By supplying Lechner Racing with Renewable Diesel at one of its truck stops, Mabanaft is also demonstrating its intention to supply this product to customers in the UK.

Onroute to supply Renewable Diesel

A wholly owned subsidiary of Mabanaft Limited, Onroute Truckstops will initially supply Renewable Diesel (HVO) at Junction 29 in Chesterfield, before rolling the product out across its entire UK network.

Using Renewable Diesel is a good starting point for hauliers looking to move away from fossil fuels in order to reduce their carbon footprint. Being made from 100% renewable and sustainable feedstocks means it can achieve substantial savings of up to 90% on greenhouse gas emission. It can also be used in place of conventional diesel without having to make any engine modifications and a wide range of vehicle manufacturers have approved the usage in their engines1.

Head of Onroute Truckstops, Jay Nair, said;

Truck stops will play a key role in helping the industry transition away from traditional fossil fuels to new, cleaner energy sources. Supplyling Renewable Diesel (HVO) at our truck stop is an important step in the journey.”
